Boiler and HRSGs and their associated control and monitoring systems will age, this means that control/monitoring accuracy degrades and sometimes fails over the life of the plant. Therefore, at some point the plant will need to tune systems to reflect the changed characteristics of an aged boiler, or to commission replacement or refurbished control elements.  The available time to dot his is usually limited, when compared to that available for commissioning in anew plant.
