The CARDS knowledge management system can be used to link new mark-up drawings to issue pages. These drawings can also be opened via the indices. For an introduction to CARDS, follow this link.
Mark-up drawings are designed to help communication. Where plant drawings traditionally concentrate on dimensional requirements and are drawn in 2D, mark-up drawings have all the clutter removed and show the component as a 3D representation, from any angle, and with any section / detail views required.
- They can be printed out and taken into the field for easy note-taking and other annotation
- This example shows a multi-page PDF with views of the HRSG from different angles

|
- Drawings can be 2D eDrawings (using a downloadable viewer) or Adobe Acrobat PDFs.
- Can be used to show nomenclature and locations of each component.
|
|
- Mark-up drawings can be major time savers. This example shows an HP steam main piping run, and each support has a note box ready to take the support readings during a hot or cold walkdown
- The drawing is to scale and in 3D, permitting rapid location of each support
